Notes

Storing suggestions
  • Room temperature– Onion raita at room temperature is best to consume fresh. But still, 2-3 hours are good to keep at the kitchen counter.
  • Refrigerator– It is best to serve fresh. But you can always mix all the ingredients except onion and store in the fridge for 3-4 days.
  • Freezer– I do not recommend freezing onion raita. Frozen raita split a bit after thawing. But if required you can freeze and later add some curd and whisk again.

Tips & FAQ’s
  1. Always use fresh curd or greek yogurt to make a raita recipe. In case you find curd sour add milk and little sugar to make it normal.
  2. Onion has a very strong flavor and smell. You can soak them in cold water for 10 minutes. It helps in reducing the smell and strong taste.
  3. Serve freshly prepared raita. Onion turns bitter if keeping long in the yogurt/curd and lose the taste.
