Bherwa Mirch Ka Pakora | Stuffed Green Chili Fritters | How To Make Bherva Mirch Ka Pakora
Today I am sharing bherwa Mirch ka pakora recipe. This is stuffed green peppers with mashed potatoes filling with some aromatics spices, dipped in spicy besan (gram flour) batter and deep fried. While in the hostel we enjoyed these pakoras in Ganga dhaba. Later got to know that bherwa mirch pakora is a popular Rajasthani street food known as bherwa mirch vada too.Bherwa mirch pakora means stuffed chilies fritters, we use green chilies also known as bhavnagri chilies which are larger in size but not too spicy. If you are serving to kids just deseed them before stuffing. These pakoras are also known as bhajji/bhajiya in Pune. These fritters can be served with green coriander chutney and tamarind chutney.
First of all, to cover the stuffed chilies prepare the gram flour batter by taking all the ingredients listed for the batter and mix in water. Add water slowly and consistency should be like dosa batter. Mix well and keep it aside.
Slit green chilies in the middle and take out all the seeds from inside.
Now, prepare stuffing ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mash potatoes and mix all the spices well.
Heat oil in a kadhai and stuff this mixture in slit chilies.
Dip this stuffed chili in besan dip (gram flour batter) and drop it in oil carefully. Fry until golden brown. Based on the size of kadhai fry 3-4 fritters at a time.
Stuffed chili fritters or bherwa mirch ka pakora are ready to serve hot with desired chutney/dip/sauce.
