Boondi raita or boondi in curd is very easy to make and a default raita in North Indian kitchen. Having only two ingredients curd & boondi this raita goes very well with biryani or any rice dish. At the same time, it is also a great accompaniment with stuffed parathas.
Boondis are tiny gram flour balls, little salty and spicy, which you can make at home but easily available in the market and ready to use. Raita is an Indian curd based dish in which curd is whisked smoothly and then add a number of ingredients. Raita is named after the main ingredient you add in the curd.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup curd/yoghurt/dahi
  • 1/2 Cup Boondi
  • 1/4 Tsp red chili powder (replace it with green chili finely chopped)
  • 1/4 Tsp cumin powder
  • 3 Tblsp roasted peanut
  • salt as per taste
  • 1/4 Cup water
  • 1 Tblsp green coriander chopped finely

Instructions

  • First of all whisk curd until smooth consistency. Adjust thickness by adding water.
  • To this add all ingredients except boondi. It is good to add boondi before serving.
  • Add boondi at the end before serving and adjust salt as per taste.
  • Boondi raita is ready to serve with biryani, parathas/flatbreads.
