    Phool Makhana Namkeen | Salty Lotus Seeds

    Phool makhana namkeen is a very healthy snack, it is roasted in ghee with salt. This nut is called fox nut in English and also known as lotus seeds. Lotus Seeds is a great source of minerals, protein and various properties.     It is consumed as a healthy snack but mostly eaten during fasting days especially in Navratri. Since phool makhana is a roasted snack, it can be prepared in advance and stored in airtight container. You can add dry fruits too, to make it more nutritious.

    Phool Makhana Namkeen

    Ingredient                                                                                    5 Serving

    3 Cups Phool makhana or lotus seeds
    2 Tblsp ghee or clarified butter
    Sendha namak as per taste

    Method

    1. Heat a kadhai on medium heat and dry roast Phool makhana. Keep stirring them for 4-5 min as they burn very fast.
    2. To this add ghee and salt as per your taste. Stir them for a while and phool makhana namkeen is ready to serve.

    Note

    1. You can add peanuts too, they are also eaten during fasting.
    2. Adding chat masala will give a twist and kids love it

      Comfort crunchy snack for all time.. Amazing recipe with just three ingredients, sure the aroma of ghee and himalayan salt together plays a best part in makhana
