Peanut ladoo or laddu recipe is an easy and simple ladoo recipe with just 3 ingredients. It is made with jaggery and roasted peanut.
Oil in the peanut and moisture in the jaggery is good enough to bind these easy peanut laddu. Being refined sugar-free these peanut ladoo with jaggery are very healthy and nutritious.
There are many ways to make peanut laddus. Some call for making sugar or jaggery syrup in order to make laddu balls. I am sharing jaggery syrup peanut ladoo as well.
In North India, whole dry roasted peanut mixed with jaggery syrup to make these ladoos especially during Sankranti time. Whereas in Maharashtra, in Pune, I make these with peanut powder and jaggery during the Chaturthi festival.
Taste & flavor-wise it is very similar to Peanut chikki. But appearance and method is a little different.
In generally roasted peanuts are always ready and stored in an airtight container. Sprinkling on Poha and rava upma is the most frequent way to consume.
Recently I made peanut butter with the same dry roasted peanuts. These shengdana laddu prepared without using ghee.
Peanut is a plant-based protein-rich ingredient and jaggery is loaded with iron. Together they make a great supplement and a healthy snack.

Peanut Ladoo recipe calls for basic two ingredients, Peanuts & Jaggery. Cardamom powder is optional but recommended.

How to make peanut ladoo
To make this peanut ladoo first dry roast peanut. Let them cook down and rub their skin off after cooling down. Grate jaggery and add cardamom powder if desired.
In a grinder, jar adds both peanut and jaggery and pulse them till both are powered properly. Let see how to make peanut ladoo with jaggery with just three ingredients.
- First of all, dry roast the 1 cup of peanuts on medium heat. Make sure they don't get burnt.
- Let them cool down and then rub peanuts with your hands and remove their skin.
- Grate jaggery and keep it aside. You can use the jaggery powder as well.
- In a grinding jar add peanuts and pulse for few seconds until you get a coarse powder.
- At this stage add grated jaggery and again pulse for a few seconds. Scrap the grinding jar with a spatula and grind again for few seconds until the mixture looks uniform.
- Transfer this mixture in a mixing bowl and add cardamom powder.
- Shape them in small ladoo. There is no need to add ghee (clarified butter). Oil in peanuts helps to hold the mixture and making ladoos.
- Peanut ladoo with jaggery is ready.
Storing & Serving suggestions
These peanut laddus stay good at room temperature for about a week.
You can easily store them for a month long duration by keeping in the fridge.
Serve them as a sweet or dessert. It is a great healthy snack and for kids lunch box. You can serve them in breakfast too with a glass of milk.
Peanut is healthy & nutritious but calories dense food. Be mindful while consuming. You can easily fit them in your daily calorie requirement and within macros. 15-20 gram Peanuts every day is a great way to enjoy in moderation.
Tips & FAQ's
- Don't grind peanuts in one stretch. Grind in pulses for a few seconds every time.
- Run the grinder for a few seconds and stop. Check the mixture and grind again. Repeat this cycle until you get a uniform mixture.
- Store them in an airtight container, peanut ladoos are good for a week.
- If mixture is dry or not binding into laddu shape then add 1-2 tablespoon ghee. However, after grinding peanuts leaves oil and jaggery melts a bit, which helps in binding.
Peanut ladoo is good for health if consumed in moderation. Peanut is source of protein and few more micro nutrients, Jaggery is rich in Iron. Together they make a nutritious and healthy combination.
Ground nut is also a good source of healthy FATS. Be mindful to eat, 15-20 gram of peanuts are good to eat everyday. You can easily fit this quantity in daily macros.

You can eat peanuts everyday, but moderation is the key. They are a rich source of healthy fats. Within limits it helps to provide nutrients. But more then required consumption would lead to access fat in the body.
15-20 grams peanuts are great to consume on daily basis.
