This Diwali I made sweets with all healthy options, and oats laddu is great for weight watchers like me. With all dry fruits and a natural sweetener like jaggery and dates makes it a healthy choice. Oats are a good source of fiber which helps in lowering cholesterol level whereas dates are rich in iron. Dry fruits like cashew, almond, are already healthy ingredients. Oats dry fruits laddu or oats and nut laddu make a great guiltfree Indian sweet recipe to make and indulge during festivals.

Before few days for Diwali both my kids fell sick. Daughter had loose motions which continued for 4 days even with medication and son got a high fever for 2 days. That was another reason to make something more nutritious and power packed for them.

Oats Laddu With Dates | Oats Dry Fruits Laddu

Ingredient                                             Make 18 Laddu

1 Cup rolled oats (gluten-free oats are another choice to make)
1 Cup chopped almond
14 dates (Used mejdool dates)
1/4 Cup chopped cashew
1/2 Tsp cinnamon powder or cardamom powder
A pinch of salt
1 Cup desiccated coconut
1/4 Cup jaggery

Method

  1. First of all, deseed the dates and keep them ready.
  2. Collect all the nuts and chop them roughly. Dry roast them one by one and keep aside. Do not roast all chopped nuts together. All nut have different roasting time so always roast separately.
  3.  Now dry roast rolled oats in a pan on medium heat till golden brown color.
  4. Let the oats and nuts come at room temperature.Oats laddu with dates is mildly Indian sweet laddu recipe made with rolled oats, dry fruits, and jaggery.   5. Once all roasted ingredients are at room temperature, take all the ingredients in a grinding jar and pulse till all are combined and into tiny pieces. Dates will help in binding laddus so no need to add ghee or clarified butter.
  6. Pour this mixture in a mixing bowl. Notes

  1. Store oats laddus in an airtight container. For two weeks you can store them.
  2. Mentioned dates and jaggery quantity is good enough for sweet taAdjustdjyst as per your taste If you want sweeter add more jaggery or dates.
  3. Dry fruits like walnuts, pecan, dried cranberries, raisins can also be added.

    I love laddus a lot. This oats laddu are great to maintain my health. Currently being on diet it’s so tough to eat sweets. Though i have sweet tooth. I’m gone surely try this recipe.
