Moong dal tikki with chole
When we stayed in US, we missed street food very much. Being new in cooking, I was always stepping back to cook street food, I mean normal cooking itself is a big task how can I think of chat items… But once we both tried our hands on making chat at home. And it was awesome. Did not follow any recipe simply trial n error, check it out.

Method: Wash and soak the lentil for half and hour.
Pressure cook it until one whistle comes. Moong dal does not take much time to
cook, so one whistle is sufficient. Keep this aside for sometime. Now heat oil
in a pan and add asafoetida and chopped onion. Just cook for 2 min and pour
this in a mixing bowl. Now add ginger paste, green chilies, chopped tomatos,
chopped coriander, chat masala, salt and bread slices after crushing them. Mix
this well so that chat masala and salt become even. To this add boiled lentil
and mix well. Make small small tikkis with this mixture and roast on the hot
griddle until both the sides are brown.

What a delicious and healthy combo.. Loved your version of Tikki.
I am a big fan of chaats and cannot imagine living without it so can understand your dilemma of not having street food options when you relocated to US. Here in Mumbai, I have to absolutely enjoy a plate of pani puri every weekend else I feel I dont receive the much energy. ha ha. So looking at your beautiful chaat platter with that glossy ragda and the fact that tikkis are made from moong dal, being a healthy ingredient, just feels amazing. Loved the detailed recipe. Cheers to Chaat Lovers like us!
