Lauki chana dal recipe is a combination of lauki also known as ghiya/doodhi/bottle gourd and chana dal/Bengal gram lentil. Cooked with spices it makes a perfect curry or sabji with flatbread/roti/chapati and rice.

Bottle gourd is very rich in water content due to which it helps in weight loss, help in digestion, keeps hydrated and improves metabolism. Since it is low in the glycemic index, it is also good for diabetic patients. Lentils or dals are a great source of protein. Lauki chana dal is my father's favorite dish. I remember him telling my mom to cook it time to time. Here is I am telling how my mom cooked which somewhere I tweaked as per my taste. If I remember lauki was never tasted good to me and avoided by me whenever my mom cooked it. But after blogging I am fallen in love with this healthy vegetable.

My dad used to lave chana lauki sabji, a great summer dish as lauki contains so much water and easy to digest.
