Tomato salsa is one of the most popular Mexican side dish served with tortilla chips. It is made with fresh tomatoes, chili, onion, garlic, and cilantro. This fresh chunky tomato salsa makes a perfect combination with chips, pita chips, veggies chips, tacos, burritos, and wraps. Such a great combination of fresh ingredients.Tomato salsa is one of the most popular Mexican side dish served with tortilla chips. It is tomato based sauce and great with chips, tacos, burritos, and wraps.

Salsa is any one of sauces of Mexican cuisine, also known as salsa fresca, hot salsa or salsa picante, used as dips. Salsa is often tomato-based and includes ingredients such as onions, chilies, lime juice, and herbs. It ranges from mild to extremely hot based on the chili quantity added.

There are many variations available to make salsa. You can hand cut every ingredient and mix in a bowl, this salsa will be in chunks and crunchy. Even tomatoes can be roasted before using which gives a smoky flavor. Again either chop everything or just throw in a food processor and blend until ingredients are broken into tiny pieces.

To make this fresh tomato salsa, just take every ingredient into a blender jar or in a food processor and run until everything combines and mix. You do not need to make a paste, should be chunky and broken into tiny pieces. So let see how I made this lip-smacking tomato salsa recipe.Tomato salsa is one of the most popular Mexican side dish served with tortilla chips. Tomato Salsa | How To Make Fresh Tomato Salsa

    Ingredient                                                               Yield 2.5 Cup salsa

5 Medium size ripe tomato cup roughly
½ Medium size onion chopped roughly
    ½ Cup green coriander chopped
1-2 Serrano chili (adjust as per taste) chopped roughly
    2 Tblsp lemon juice
    2 Medium size garlic clove
    Salt as per taste
    1 teaspoon sugar

    Method

    1. Collect all the ingredients in a food processor and pulse till everything combined and broken into tiny pieces. It should not be a smooth paste.
    2. Serve tomato salsa chilled with tortilla chips.

    Note

    1. You can oven roast the tomatoes before adding it to a food processor.
    2. I used my Ninja food processor to make this salsa.
    3. Since we are using all fresh ingredients, therefore you can store salsa in the fridge for 2-3 days or up to one week.
    4. Since salt and lime juice is added, tomato keeps leaving out their juicy content making this salsa watery. So remove excess liquid before serving.

Do you know there is something very similar in Arabic cuisine called Salata Harra, which just means spicy salad. I am just wondering how much interlinked food can be! This is amazing with just plain rice too...

That is a flavourful salsa for sure. I remember making this, but I cubed all the ingredients for a chunky finish.
