Dulce de leche is made by boiling condensed milk on a medium flame for about two hours. It tastes like caramel and a very delicious flavor. Ladoos made with it taste chocolaty and melts in the mouth. For the aroma use cardamom powder. You can add dry fruits filling as well inside the ladoos to make them chewier.

How To Make Dulce de leche– To make it first take a saucepan which is big enough to accommodate the condensed milk can. Pour water to reach the higher side of the can. Now boil it on medium heat for about two hours. Sweetened milk slowly turns to brown in color and thicker. Keep adding more water for two hours to make sure that can is completely drowned in the water. After two hours take it out and let it come at room temperature. Dulce de leche is ready to use.

  1. 🙂 I remember making dulce de leche (or toffee as we used to call it) when we were kids! Ah! When that milkmaid can was opened we couldn’t stop licking the toffee right out it! Love your super simple recipe for making the ladduus!

These would be perfect during the festival season. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Must say dulce de Leche is such a versatile ingredient that can be used in a lot of sweets and desserts. Recently I also used dulce de Leche along with almonds in making pedas. I am sure these laddoos would have come out great too. The combination of coconut makes them all the more irresistible. Fab share!!
