Dry Fruits Laddu (sugar-free)
Dry Fruits Laddu is a no sugar no jaggery based Indian sweets to make on festive occasions. These healthy & instant ladoos made with dry fruits & Medjool dates gets ready in just 30 minutes.
This dry fruits ladoo recipe is one of the BEST Indian desserts for weight watchers when it comes to counting calories.

Medjool dates are very soft in texture and easy to handle. They get crushed or chopped quickly and provide enough stickiness to bind dry fruits into laddu shape.
I made khajur rolls, no-bake date energy bars & oats laddu using these Medjool dates.
These healthy ladoos are sweetened by dates and a little crunchy which comes from roasted dry fruits.
Dry fruits ladoos with dates are often prepared on festivals like Holi, Diwali, Ramadan, Ganesh Chaturthi & during fasting days like Navratri.
Since they are very nutritious & budget-friendly, you can make them all throughout the year. In India, dry fruits called as “mewa” so these are also called as “Mewa Laddu”

Ingredients
This dry fruits ladoo recipe is inspired by my “Khajur Rolls” recipe. I used just half of the quantity and could make 10 laddus.
You can easily level up the recipe to produce more laddus.

- Medjool Dates– These dates are the BEST dates to use as they are very soft in texture. They help in binding as you can easily chop them or grind them with other ingredients.
- Dry fruits– Almond, cashew, pistachio, are used to make these laddus.
- Coconut– Dry grated coconut(desiccated coconut) gives a nice flavor & chewiness.
- Ghee– I used ghee to roast dry fruits. You can use coconut oil as well. That change will make a vegan version of dry fruits ladoo. Homemade ghee
- Flavoring– Cardamom powder is always best to use in Indian dessert recipes. The perfect nice aroma while eating.
How to make dry fruits laddu
Let see how to make healthy Indian Festival sweet, dry fruits laddu with dates in just 30 minutes.
Step-1 Clean and remove seeds from dates
First of all, clean dates if any dirt and remove their seeds.
Chop them into small chunks & keep it ready.
Step-2 Chop all the nuts
Now chop almond, cashew, pistachio nicely, and keep it aside.
Step-3 Roasting chopped nuts
Heat a nonstick pan on medium heat. You can lower the heat a bit from a medium level.
Add ghee in the pan. Once the ghee is melted add chopped dry fruits almond, cashew, pistachio, and desiccated coconut.
Roast these chopped nuts for 2-3 minutes & keep stirring in order to avoid burning. Note- This roasting gives a nice crunch to chopped nuts.
Step-4 Add cardamom powder and dates
To this now add cardamom powder & chopped dates. Lower the heat and mix well.
Smash the chopped dates with a spatula so that it mixed with chopped nuts uniformed. Keep stirring & mixing.
After 3 minutes everything binds together. Turn off the heat and transfer the mixture to a wide plate. Let it cool down to the point where you can touch it. NOTE- do not let the mixture come at room temperature.
Make laddus, here you can simply roll down these energy balls over dry grated coconut to cover the outer surface.
and once cool down completely store in an airtight container.
Serving suggestions
These dates & nuts laddu are best to consume during Navratri fasting days, Iftar, in breakfast, or during snack time.
Dry fruits laddu make a perfect after-school snack for kids. Being healthy in fats, one ladoo with milk is breakfast will give you enough energy to start the day.
Perfect ladoo recipe for toddlers, and growing up kids. Serve them with a glass of milk & 1 or 2 laddu in breakfast time. It not only will keep them full but also makes them energetic for the whole day.
Since we have used nuts in this laddu recipe, be mindful while consuming. You may increase you FAT macro for the day.

Storing suggestions
Once these ladoo comes at room temperature, store them in an airtight container. They are good to keep at room temperature for 2 weeks.
Tips & FAQ’s
- Always use Medjool dates as they are soft and easily bind other ingredients. Due to the unavailability of Medjool dates if you use normal dates make sure to soak them for 30 minutes in hot water. Soaking will make them soft.
- I used cashew, almond & pistachio, you can add makhana(lotus seeds), walnuts & pecans too.
- Roasting is a must for two reasons. First, roasting nuts will make them crunchy, and second, it will lengthen the shelf life.
- You can always roll the laddu balls in dry coconut to cover them. But not compulsory.
- If you do like to have desiccated coconut, just skip it and follow the rest of the recipe.
- To make this dates laddu recipe vegan, skip the ghee and either replace it with coconut oil or just skip it. Make it oil-free.
- Ingredients measurements are given for reference. Feel free to increase or decrease the number of nuts. Be sure to increase dates as it helps in binding.
- If you like to avoid cooking version then simply add all the ingredients in a blender jar and grind them till they all mixed up and form a sticky dough. Transfer it on a bowl and make laddus with it.
- You can add edible gum as well in these ladoos, and make dry fruit laddu with gond. You can also check gond ke ladoo with wheat flour.

Ingredients
- 1 cup dates 14-16 Medjool dates seedless
- 1/4 cup almond chopped
- 1/4 cup cashew chopped
- 2 tbsp dry grated coconut desiccated coconut
- 1/4 cup pistachio chopped
- 1 tbsp ghee
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds
Instructions
