Apple Walnut Salad Recipe

Ingredients                                                                                   4 servings

3 Medium size apple (I used red apple)
1 Cup red leaf lettuce
1 Cup romaine leaf
1/4 Cup chopped walnut
1 Tbsp silvered almond (optional, used for garnishing)
2 Tblsp maple syrup (you can use honey too)
Salt as per taste
2 Tblsp lemon juice

Method

  1. Wash apples nicely. I am skeptical about wax on apple’s skin. So I peeled them and cut into pieces.
  2.  Add apple pieces, walnuts, lettuce leaf and romaine leaf in a mixing bowl.
  3. To this add honey, lemon juice, and salt and mix thoroughly.
  4. Garnish with some silvered almonds serve this apple walnut salad immediately.

Notes

  1. You can use green apples as well. Use half the quantity of green and rest half with red apples to make it look colorful.
  2. Peeling apples is completely by choice. I prefer peeling them before consuming.
  3. Do not make in advance. Walnut becomes soggy, apples soften and salad tastes boring.
